I am a Northland girl (home is Waipu and Whangarei) and I whakapapa to Te Ati Awa (Ngati Te Whiti).
I graduated from Otago University with a BPhty in 2003 and gathered experience working in a Traumatic Brain Injury service (Maori Health provider), Private Practice (locums) and in Whangarei Hospital (Orthopaedics, Outpatients, Medical and Surgical). In 2006 I found my ‘niche’ in Paediatrics at the Child Health Centre and have been there ever since. Child Health Centre covers all of Northland and we work in remote areas. I also participate in our regional multidisciplinary clubfoot clinic. I completed a Masters of Bioethics and Health Law (distinction) in 2011. I am very interested in children, whanau and community and in how physiotherapy can be a useful part of health care and wellbeing discussions. I would appreciate the opportunity to learn and participate as part of the National Executive.
I am also a member of the Professional Standards and Ethics Committee and Tae Ora Tinana.
